Minutes for Kaskaskia Country Club Board Meeting May 7, 2008
President Chad Strader called the meeting to order at 7:00P.
M. May 7th 2008.
Those present were as follows: Al Froman, Dave Gilbert, Dick
Heim, Gerald Taylor, Kevin Hohlbauch, Butch Mast and Debbie Chenoweth. Grounds
keeper Kevin Bishop was present.
Dick Heim made a motion to accept John Connor’s resignation
from the Board. Kevin Hohlbauch second motion and motion carried. Tim Jones was
present and accepted the position that John left. Dave Gilbert made a motion to
accept Tim to the board with Kevin second. Motion carried.
The minutes of the April meeting where reviewed. Al Froman
made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Kevin Hohlbauch second and
motion carried.
All bills where reviewed and Al Froman made a motion to pay
all. Kevin Hohlbauch second and motion carried.
The treasure report was reviewed. Debbie had the rates of
Certificates of Deposit from two local banks. Al Froman and Chad Strader are
going to check with other sources for higher rates. Dick Heim made a motion at
accept the treasurer’s report and Dave Gilbert second. Motion carried.
Gerald Taylor made a motion to raise Jill Hohlbauch rate of
pay from $30.00 to $40.00 per month. Dick Heim second motion and motion
carried. (Kevin Hohlbauch refrained from voting)
Groundskeeper –
Kevin Bishop
- Kevin
Gibson worked one week and quite for a higher paying job. James Hart
worked one week and left for a higher paying job. Kevin is going to runner
ads in the local papers for more help.

Saplings trees where planted. Al Froman going to donate more trees and
have them planted.
- The
water system is up and running. Some sprinklers need to be replaced and
the over loads on panel needs replace. Kevin is going to get more
information.
- Roll
up door on shop is broke. It will take $200.00 to repair and $800.00 to
replace the entire door. Dave Gilbert made a motion to repair both tracks
and get new springs on existing door. Kevin Hohlbauch second and motion
carried.
- Air faction
day will be May 19, 2008 Dry brush should be here by then.
- Pat
Connlin would like to spray weeds in the ruff area only. He will use
sprayer and a four wheeler. Kevin gave his permission.
- Greens
are all coming along except number 9. Cutting a tree was discussed, to
give more sunshine. The board is going to look at the green and think
about it this month.
- Kevin
was ask to get cart signs out and use paint around the greens. The Gang
Bangers will be asked again to only use two carts per hole.
Managers report –
Dennis Jumper
- Channel
three Home page contacted Dennis to advertise Kaskaskia Country Club.
We would give away rounds of golf with a cart. Dennis is good
with expense and thinks it would be
great for club. He is checking out if we can put on there to call for Tee time.
- Had
some problems with kids at Prom drinking. The policy will now be that if
anyone leaves the building with out an adult they can not come back in.
- No one
has been to check on the floor in the hall. Dave is to call Susan with
Wright Furniture and get her out to look.
- Dennis
is buying new sandwich machine and needs 3 110 outlets in kitchen. He also
needs a stainless steel shelf to attach to the wall. Kevin made a motion
for the club to buy shelf and put in as many 110 outlets that $500.00 will
cover. Al Froman second motion and motion carried.
- A
member that has not paid and is playing golf was discussed. Name will be
posted on the door starting Thursday.
- In
lieu of membership drive Dennis wants to have BBQ cook off in the fall.
Have it out side and maybe even a band.
- Raccoons
are getting into trash. Mike Hilgenburge has trap
- Jerry
Blaudow is doing Jr. Golf lessons at a cost of $25.00 for members $100.00
for non members.
- Dennis
reported a small crack in the urinal in men’s restroom.
- Dennis
would like to put a TV on the porch this summer. He would put on a cart so
it could be rolled in and out.

Social and Members

Dance went well.
- BBQ in
fall and formal Christmas dinner and dance are being discussed
Grounds and Greens – Gunner Taylor

here but no spikes. Debbie is to call and get them coming before paying
that bill
- New
flag is up and hose reel in cart shed is up and working
- Club
needs three new plaques for the walls Debbie is to call Caroline Sanders
at the Atwood State Bank to see if they will donate more.
- Check
to see if the road pack we have is usable
Finance –
- Chad
appointed Al Froman to take John Connor place as chairman of the finance
committee.
Golf – Kevin Hohlbauch

tourney is all planned and will have a sign up sheet in club house
- Agri
Fab wanting free rounds of golf for a fund raiser. Chad is going to check
into that. Will ask for round from Sullivan for Jimbo Outing.
New Business
- Debbie
had e-mail with price of golf cart to raffle off. This raffle will take
place at

action for the big Calcutta. Limited number of tickets will be 400 sold at
$25.00 a piece or 5 for $100.00 This money will go to Golf Course
Improvements. Gunner Taylor will take care of getting tickets printed when
we are sure Little Egypt still has the cart. Cost of cart that was quoted
was $4400.00
Dave Gilbert made a motion to
adjourn the meeting and Kevin Hohlbauch second. Motion carried.
